During Thanksgiving week, two movie trailers came out for very long-awaited films. On Black Friday was a teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which showed very little of the film but a few shots with nothing linking them together. That film’s trailer showed some interesting technology like a rolling R2 unit and a lightsaber with additions. The other trailer is for Jurassic World, which shows technology that we do have.
No, I’m not talking about the dinosaurs, or the giant plastic balls that people use to watch the dinosaurs. No, this is the Samsung Gear watch, which is apparently the tech of choice when touring Jurassic World.
In all honesty, I couldn’t think of a better promotion for a product. There are a lot of speculative fiction films with technology that we have now, and for the most part, science fiction technology has inspired real life technology since the days of Star Trek.
I’m guessing it will be none other than Chris Pratt, rising megastar from Guardians of the Galaxy, who will use this watch. It is pretty apparent that Jurassic World, which is a thriving dinosaur theme park, but something is going to go wrong, probably related to this new dinosaur being cloned there, or something.
Whatever the case, something tells me that sales of the Samsung Gear are going to increase after Jurassic World.
Provided the movie shows how useful a smartwatch is. Of course, the film is planning on being released on June 12, 2015 and by that time, the Apple Watch could have swept the world.
